Trauma Medical Director/Acute Care Surgeon BE/BC in Surgical Critical Care/Trauma Surgery

Northwell Health is seeking a fulltime academic Trauma Medical Director/Acute Care Surgeon BE/BC in Surgical Critical Care/Trauma Surgery to join the faculty at our South Shore Hospital campus (in Bayshore, NY). This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Clinician Educator in a high acuity environment with a very supportive and experienced team.
The qualified candidate will join a team of seven other attendings in South Shore University Hospital Division of Acute Care Surgery. Surgeons will rotate through the Surgical ICU and Acute Care Surgery services. South Shore Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center and applying for Level I status. South Shore Hospital admits approximately 800 trauma and surgical patients annually. South Shore is the newest surgical residency. South Shore is the site of our newest surgical residency. Northwell has four surgical residencies in its 23-hospital system. The Division also manages an 8-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Lastly, the Division is actively involved in research at the basic science, translational, and clinical level.
