Acute Care Surgeon 

The East Carolina University Department of Surgery and the Center of Excellence for Trauma and Surgical Critical Care is presently entertaining applicants to fill the position of Acute Care Surgeon. This individual is expected to join seven academic trauma surgeons to staff the Trauma Service, Surgical Critical Care Team, and cover emergency general surgery at our ACS verified Level I University Trauma Center.

The Center provides tertiary care for a population of approximately 1.2 million in Eastern North Carolina, and is located in Greenville, North Carolina. The service sees 2200+ patients per year and oversees a 24-bed SICU in a 740+ bed hospital, which has an average occupancy exceeding 80%.

Compensation and academic rank based on qualifications. Preferred candidates will be board certified in general surgery and critical care and will have a strong interest in providing clinical service, medical student and resident education and fostering clinical research.
