Faculty Position—Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon

The George Washington Medical Faculty Associates, an independent, non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery. Appointment will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (non-tenure track) commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities include providing excellent patient care, teaching residents and medical students. The surgeon will attend in a closed ICU, work on a busy in-patient trauma service, and will care for general surgical patients admitted through the ED or referred from outside hospitals.

Basic qualifications: Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care, and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia, at the time of appointment. Demonstrated excellence in research, as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress, and in clinical care and teaching, as evidenced by experience, fellowship training, and references, are required.
