The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Department of Surgery, is seeking applicants for the position of academic trauma and acute care surgeon within a dedicated trauma acute care surgery. The successful candidate must be BE/BC. Prefer fellowship training in Trauma/Critical Care, but not required. The candidate should have exemplary clinical skills, a team spirit and an interest in teaching and scholarly activity. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.

The Department of Surgery has regionally and nationally recognized faculty covering all areas of surgery, and includes longstanding American College of Surgeons verified Level 1 Trauma Center, an Acute Care Service at an ACS Level 2 Trauma Center as well as an American Burn Association verified Burn Center. Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery have been at the core of what we do as an institution for over 20 years, and we are proud of our long track record of excellence in this area. The department is active in both basic science and clinical research, and our medical school was recently ranked #1 nationally among graduates as “The best place to learn”. Surgical education is a core mission of the department, and the trauma section will include participation from general surgery residents and medical students in addition to advanced practice providers. Collegiality, a commitment to sponsorship and mentorship, and a team ethos are characteristics of the department, and the trauma acute care division in particular.
