The Department of Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking an academic Burn Surgeon to join the full time faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery. Upstate Medical University Hospital is an ACS-verified adult and pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center. The Clark Burn Center was established in 1975 and is the regional referral center for burn patients the 2.7 million inhabitants of central New York. The burn center treats over 250 inpatients, more than 1350 outpatient burns annually and is experiencing significant regional growth. The successful candidate is expected to integrate with the current burn surgery team in providing critical care for patients with burn injuries. There are two burn surgeons on staff.
The candidate must be board-certified or eligible in Surgery. Fellowship training in burn surgery and surgical critical care is preferred. The candidate will be expected to participate in teaching medical students, and surgery residents. The successful candidate will be employed by University Surgical Associates, LLP and must be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Upstate Medical University and University Hospital. This position offers a competitive salary, midlevel provider and resident support for patient care and support for developing a comprehensive plastic/reconstructive surgery practice including cosmetic surgery
