BC/BE Trauma Surgeon

Mercy is seeking a BC/BE Trauma Surgeon with a passion for teaching to join our acute care surgery service. The selected candidate will receive an academic appointment at Des Moines University and will be faculty of the Mercy General Surgery Residency program. The role offers competitive compensation including a sign on/retention bonus, paid malpractice and a generous retirement program.

Candidate Requirements
o BC/BE General Surgery w/Fellowship Training in Surgical Critical Care and or Trauma
o Teaching and research experience

Faculty Responsibilities
o Emergent general surgery & trauma
o In-patient rounding including critical care
o Continuity clinic for follow up & post op patients
o Facilitates education of residents & med students
o Scholarly activity
o Trauma/ACS call rotation (one location)
o Supervision of Advanced Practice Clinicians
