Senior Manager Trauma and Acute Care Surgery

•The primary responsibility of this role in collaboration with the TMD, is to improve trauma care, the trauma system and acute care surgery from JSUMC, throughout Meridian Health and across the State of NJ though participation in State level Trauma organizations.

•The Senior Manager of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the trauma patient within a theoretical framework encompassing the trauma cycle from prevention to resuscitation through rehabilitation and assimilation of injured person back to the community.

•He/she works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team, the patient and the patient’s family, using advanced assessment skills and specialty expertise, both directly and indirectly to promote quality clinical care, staff and patient education and support pertinent research.

•This position has responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of systems and programs directed toward the provision of quality of services from a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to injured patients.

•He/She develops and implements nursing care standards, education, trauma outreach/injury prevention and other trauma related activities as determined by the needs of the trauma center and strategic plans.

•All activities and responsibilities of the Senior Manager of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery/TPM conform to professional standards and hospital policies and procedures.

•This position also has financial oversight for the clinical units and faculty practices supporting the trauma operations.

•Provides leadership in the coordination of the ACS re-verification visit every three years.

•Serves as the lead person for the trauma peer review process to include review of all trauma patient's medical record, identify the peer review concerns, manage peer review meetings.
