Acute Care Surgeon

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is committed to excellence in surgical care, education and research. Ideally situated in the heart of the world’s largest medical center, the 150 members of our department faculty practice in the Texas Medical Center at iconic institutions, including CHI-Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital, Texas Heart Institute, Ben Taub Hospital, and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at BCM is seeking a full-time academic surgeon who is board certified (eligible) in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Selected candidates will be committed to research and the training of residents and fellows in surgical critical care at BCM.

The faculty appointment will be at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, BCM’s primary non-profit teaching hospital, and the practice encompasses adult emergency general surgery and surgical critical care. It does not involve trauma. Teamwork and the ability to interact with a multitude of specialists and subspecialists are an essential component of the position. Our group prides itself on communication and delivering expert and timely care to all patients regardless of background.
