The George Washington University Hospital offers a one-year Trauma and Critical Care postgraduate residency for advanced practice providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners). The residency provides training in trauma surgery including subspecialty surgical care and all aspects of critical care medicine. Through instruction from designated physician and experienced AP mentors, the AP will learn the necessary skills to properly manage critically ill and acutely injured patients through a combination hands-on experience and didactic education.

Qualifications: -Graduation from an accredited program and current or anticipated licensure as a PA-C or RN/APRN in the District of Columbia.
-New graduate APs or those wishing to switch fields and obtain additional education
-Two candidates will be chosen (PA or ACNP)
-Applications: Received by April 29, 2022
-Interviews: May 2022
-Notification: June 2022
-Start Date: November 7th, 2022

Research opportunities

The AP resident will receive mentoring in the area of research and be expected to participate in a research study throughout the course of the year.
