The Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)/ Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), is recruiting a board certified/ board eligible surgeon for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Acute Care surgery. The candidate should have completed training in General Surgery and a Critical Care Fellowship. Academic appointment at Harvard Medical School, at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, will be commensurate with experience, training and achievement in the field. The candidate is expected to integrate into a busy practice of Acute Care Surgery, Trauma and Critical Care with training opportunities for residents and medical students. A track record of academic productivity is required, as the candidate will be expected to be involved in the research and academic mission of the division.

BIDMC, a 672-bed hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, is renowned for excellence in patient care, biomedical research, teaching and community service. Located in the heart of Boston's Longwood Medical and Academic Area, it hosts more than three quarters of a million patient visits annually in and around Boston. The medical center is clinically affiliated with Joslin Diabetes Center and is a founding member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.
