The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, desires to recruit a full-time academic surgeon to specialize in Trauma, Acute care, burn surgery and surgical critical care. Successful applicants should be qualified at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. Candidates should possess excellent clinical skills, and strong interests in teaching and research. Applicants must be board certified or eligible in general surgery, surgical critical care and have completed a burn fellowship. The opportunity exists to practice at a Level 1 Trauma Center, with Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care unit and at a large regional burn center verified by the American Burn Association for children and adults.

The hospital is an ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center, with approximately 2000 admissions yearly. The burn center admits approximately 900 patients per year in the in patient unit and 4,000 patients in the clinic. The burn program is consistently serving approximately 80% adults and 20% children. The University also maintains ACGME-accredited training programs in general surgery and many surgical sub-specialties.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
