Duke Surgery Seeks Acute Care General Surgeons For Community Practices
Duke Surgery is seeking Board Eligible or Board Certified general surgeons to join our community based practice on the campus of both Duke Raleigh Hospital and Duke Regional Hospital. Ideal candidates will be comfortable with routine general surgical procedures and have training in ACS/EGS. Interest in more complex sub-specialty areas is a plus. Ideal candidate would do general surgery, cover the Emergency Room during the day, and have surgical critical care certification. Experience in a community practice setting is a plus.
These surgeons will be part of the Division of Trauma, Acute and Critical Care Surgery. They will have the opportunity to participate in community based clinical research and work with residents on call. Salary and title will be commensurate with skills and experience. The Department of Surgery offers a robust compensation plan that rewards clinical productivity and academic excellence.

Duke Regional Hospital is a 369-bed acute care facility serving the health care needs of Durham, Orange, Person, Granville counties and surrounding communities for 40 years. With 1,935 employees, we provide outstanding medical care with compassionate, personalized service in a comfortable community hospital setting. Duke Regional Hospital offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and diagnostic services, including orthopedics, weight loss surgery, women's services, and heart and vascular services. We also offer care at the Duke Rehabilitation Institute, the Health Services Center, and the James E. Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center.
Duke Raleigh is a medical surgical hospital with a growing, successful multi-specialty surgical program that now includes neurosurgery, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, thoracic surgery and vascular surgery. The hospital currently has a 15 bed medical surgical ICU. In 2020, Duke Raleigh will add a 160,000-square foot, six-story tower on the south side of the current hospital. The new tower will include a new OR space on the first floor with larger replacement ORs and more support space. When the new bed tower opens, there will be a new 28 bed ICU split into medical and surgical units.
