Associate Professor/Professor- Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgeon

The Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accepting applications for a full-time academic trauma, critical care, and acute care surgeon. This position is at the Associate Professor/Professor level, in accordance with the candidate's individual experience. Qualified candidates will have completed ACS fellowship or equivalent training and be Board Certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
Vanderbilt serves as the only ACS designated Level 1 Trauma Center in the state of Tennessee and is a primary referral center for our community providers. With a catchment area of 65,000 square miles covering Tennessee and surrounding states, the medical center provides acute care and specialty services for a wide variety of patients. Vanderbilt houses over 1000 beds with over 4700 trauma admissions annually and continues to grow.
The Division of Trauma currently includes 13 faculty members and 8 clinical fellows that provide a broad array of clinical services while caring for injured, critically ill, burn and emergency general surgery patients. The ideal candidate should have outstanding clinical experience and possess strong communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to research, ongoing quality/performance improvement and education are crucial. Academic rank, tenure and additional leadership opportunities are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
