CHIEF, DIVISION OF ACUTE CARE SURGERY

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas is seeking a Chief of the Division of Acute Care Surgery.

We are seeking candidates to build upon the long-standing heritage of caring for patients suffering from trauma, general surgery emergencies, and critical illness while continuing in the traditions of excellence set forth by our department’s founder, Dr. Michael E. DeBakey. The division’s faculty members maintain robust clinical practices and educational programs at three affiliated hospitals: Ben Taub Hospital, Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, and the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The successful candidate should possess (1) superb leadership skills; (2) exceptional clinical expertise in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care; and (3) and a track record of advancing the field through education and research. Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.
