Trauma/Critical Care/Acute Care Surgeon and Associate Residency Program Director

NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn, in New York City, is actively recruiting for a dual-board-certified general surgeon and surgical intensivist for the position of acute care surgeon and Associate Residency Program Director. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience at the attending level, an interest and aptitude in surgical education, and the organizational ability to assist in the administrative activities of an ACGME accredited General Surgery Residency in an academic medical center. More recent graduates may apply.

Clinical responsibilities will include trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care coverage. He/she will join the Acute Care Surgery (ACS) division alongside five other acute care surgeons. The ACS group performs over 1,000 emergency surgeries annually and also participates in resident education, collaborative hospital-wide committees, community outreach, and research.

NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn is the first American College of Surgeons verified Level 1 trauma center in New York City and represents the Brooklyn campus of the NYU Langone Health system, a world-class, patient-centered, academic medical center and one of the nation's premier centers for excellence in clinical care, biomedical research, and medical education. Faculty appointment at NYU Grossman School of Medicine will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level commensurate with experience.
