Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida is recruiting a full-time tenure or non-tenure track acute care surgeon to join the Division of Acute Care Surgery. This division is a full time faculty group of nine acute care surgeons and three burn surgeons providing service in the well-established Level 1 trauma tertiary care center at the 1,100+ bed UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. The trauma center admits 3,500 trauma admissions per year (90% blunt trauma), has a designated burn center for North Florida, and has a busy Emergency General Surgery practice with 2500+ operative cases per year. There is also the opportunity to participate in elective general surgery with a focus on hernia repair and complex abdominal wall reconstructions. This new physician will join a group of Acute Care surgeons with a reputation of excellence in patient care and an established track-record of research activity.

Fellowship training in surgical critical care and teaching experience is preferred. The academic rank will be based upon the career stage and development of the candidate. The Division has a long-standing commitment to both Resident and Fellow education and the new surgeon will be heavily involved in this effort. The ideal candidate will lead our surgical critical care and acute care surgery fellowships.

This position offers a unique opportunity to blend both clinical and academic responsibilities. Salary is negotiable.
