EAST Mentoring Program

EAST is pleased to announce the 2021 EAST Mentoring Program for EAST members officially kicking off this January 2021!  The 2021 EAST Mentoring Program is now OPEN!  The submission deadline to apply is October 5, 2020.

This program is under the direction of the EAST Mentoring Committee.  The goal of the Mentoring Program is to promote the academic and personal growth of the young trauma and acute care surgeon by providing extramural mentorship over a 1-year period.

The 2021 program is once again implementing a multi-tiered approach to mentoring including a team of medical professionals to form a “Mentoring Family”.

We expect teams to develop an annual strategic plan, communicate with each other consistently, meet each other annually (if possible in-person while practicing social distancing or virtually), and hopefully develop a long-term relationship.  The goal is that at the conclusion of the 1-year mentoring year all team members will have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop through their “Mentoring Family”.   Based on the needs of the applicants each “Mentoring Family” will consist of between 3-5 team members.

To participate in the program as a Mentor or Mentee please complete the appropriate application below.

We are requesting that both Mentors and Mentees complete the application to the best of their ability to aid in a successful matching process.

We believe that every member no matter what stage they are at in their professional career has something to learn and offer and will be able to accomplish both through the structure of a multi-tiered mentoring program.  The hope is that at the conclusion of the 1-year mentoring year all team members will have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop through their “Mentoring Family”.
