A complete and accurate profile will get you the most out of your EAST membership experience and help foster opportunities for networking and collaboration.Serve on a Committee or Ad Hoc Task ForceThe work of EASTs Divisions, Committees and Task Forces keeps the organization strong and relevant. A call for volunteers is conducted annually in the summer. Look for the email notification and choose a topic that fits your interests. You must complete the online form by the deadline to be considered for an appointment. Appointments for the next volunteer year will be finalized in November, and an email communication confirming your appointment for the upcoming year will be sent to you.Attend the Annual Scientific AssemblyHeld annually in January, the Annual Scientific Assembly is EASTs premier educational event that includes hands-on workshops, scientific sessions, networking events, community outreach opportunities and exhibits. EAST accepts abstract submissions for traditional scientific abstracts and video abstracts. Submit your Abstract before the July 1 deadline.Participate in the Mentoring ProgramEAST offers a range of mentoring programs and resources that promote the academic and personal growth of early-level trauma and acute care surgeons and guide mid-level physicians towards the next phase of their careers. EAST seeks senior and mid-career professionals to serve as mentors as well as students, residents, junior faculty, and mid-career professionals to apply as mentees. Held during the Annual Scientific Assembly, this one-day event is coordinated by the EAST Injury Control and Violence Prevention Committee, with volunteers traveling into the community to deliver high-quality, high-profile injury prevention programs.
