Full time Trauma Surgery Faculty Member

The Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently recruiting for 2 full-time surgery faculty member at UM Capital Region Health (UMCRH) located in Largo, Maryland.

Clinical responsibilities include trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care. Resident/student education and research are also core components of the position. The trauma center is the 2nd busiest in the state of Maryland, with a good mix of penetrating and blunt mechanisms of injury.

Requirements include board certification/eligibility by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care, fellowship training in trauma/surgical critical care, related work experience, and demonstrated commitment toward research. Applicants with surgical critical care experience will be most competitive. An unrestricted license in the State of Maryland is required. This position requires a medical Degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent)

This position includes an academic appointment with the University of Maryland School of Medicine; rank will be commensurate with experience and training. A competitive salary is being offered and the position is currently available in Largo, MD which is located near the downtown D.C..Metro area.
