The Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care Surgery at the University of Iowa invites applicants for one (1) faculty position in the Burn Treatment Center. Appointment rank is open and may be on either the non-tenure, tenure, or clinical track consistent with experience and research interest.
Applicants must hold a medical doctorate from an approved medical college, have completed training in all phases of General Surgery, possess board eligibility/certification from the American Board of Surgery. Completion of a fellowship in burn surgery is highly desired. Board certification/eligibility in Surgical Critical Care is required.
Applicants must have experience in the management and treatment of burns and related injuries. Applicants will need to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to ongoing performance improvement, and to providing care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Dedication to enhancing a diverse workforce and academic environment is vital. Involvement in teaching, clinical research, performance improvement and outreach activities are integral to the position. Applicants with established research are highly desired. Experience in research at a level which enables procurement of outside funding is required for tenure track appointments.
