Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Surgeon
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Surgery is applications for two Acute Care General Surgeons to join the Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Division. The successful applicant will be academically oriented and excited to join the faculty of one of the busiest trauma centers in the country.
Responsibilities include covering trauma, surgical critical care and emergency general surgery, staffing a resident clinic and providing other didactic educational services to medical students, residents, and fellows, particularly in the clinical setting.
Clinical research opportunities are abundant. There is also an opportunity to develop a basic research program for the qualified candidate. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and academics.
Candidates must have completed an accredited general residency program and surgical critical care fellowship and be Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
The candidate hired will join a cohesive team of 10 surgeons at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center (EPTC) to expand the Division to a goal of 12 surgeons. EPTC is the only Level One Center in the Mid-South. Operative trauma cases remain high with a large volume and penetrating trauma
This is a non-tenure positon, rank commensurate with experience.
