Summary of Opportunity

The Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) is seeking a fellowship trained and or experienced Burn, Trauma, Critical Care Surgeon to join its team oriented faculty. Fellowship training in burn is preferred. The successful applicant will provide state-of-the-art care for the critically injured throughout all phases of recovery at Temple University Hospital (TUH), a 746-bed tertiary facility Level I trauma center located adjacent to the Medical School on the Health Science Campus. The selected candidate will diagnose and treat patients with burns ranging from critically ill acute burns of any etiology, outpatient minor burns in our community, and reconstructive burn surgery. The new faculty member will also share equitable burn and trauma, acute care surgical call with the group. The new faculty member can expect to do an average of 3 clinical weeks a month including 1 week on the burn service. The hospital is fully committed to providing the highest level of care for its burn, trauma, and surgical critical care patients. The Department of Surgery offers potential candidates a uniquely supportive practice environment with an emphasis on quality patient care, research, teaching, individual career development, and collegiality among faculty members.

Applicants must possess an MD or MD/PhD with active board certification in General Surgery, BE/BC in Trauma/CC, is preferred, in possession of or eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and credentials that will quality for a faculty appointment at the minimum level of Assistant Professor.

Temple University Hospital has a specialized and highly sophisticated burn care facility—the Temple Burn Center. It's the region's only ABA verified burn center.
