Position Emphasis:

The Department of Surgery, Division of GI, Trauma, and Endocrine Surgery is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the section of Trauma-Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care with board certification in General Surgery and Added Qualifications in Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent certification to join an established and growing program.

The ideal candidate would be comfortable with all aspects of general surgery including trauma and acute care surgery and surgical critical care. Preference will be given to applicants that have completed two years of a formal trauma and critical care surgical fellowship and demonstrated experience in surgical education, research, and patient care. This position is responsible for staffing and call coverage for the trauma-acute care surgery service and the surgery-trauma intensive care service, participation in medical student, resident, and fellow education, and scholarly activity commensurate with qualifications. Preference will be given to applicants with prior research training and productivity. Responsibilities include compliance with and promotion of high quality service in order to meet or exceed standards for appropriate accreditation and verification of these programs by regulatory, accreditation, or verification agencies.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established as follows:
Assistant Professor: $327,000 – $460,000
Associate Professor: $400,000 – $507,000

These ranges are total compensation which include base salary and potential incentives based on productivity.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Added Qualification in Surgical Critical Care after completion of a formal fellowship program in trauma and critical care is strongly preferred.
