Trauma Medical Director needed to join and lead our surgicalist team in Corpus Christi, TX

Surgical Affiliates Management Group is looking for an experienced BC GS/SCC Surgeon to be our Trauma Medical Director in Corpus Christi, TX. The Trauma Medical Director reports to the CMO of our established, physician-led group and works closely with the key organization stakeholders at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX to advance high-level, patient centered care. Our leaders and company focus on physician work/life balance with a predictable schedule on the campus of a Level II Trauma Center in beautiful Corpus Christi, TX.

Core Responsibilities will include:

1. Preparation and leadership for the ACS Verification site visit
2. Trauma Performance Improvement (PI), including review of all trauma
mortalities, and morbidities with potential areas of improvement.
This also includes leadership of monthly Trauma PI and Operations
meetings, and loop closure with subspecialty liaisons
3. Regular meetings with Trauma Program Manager to review Trauma PI, PI
projects and any active workflow or clinical issues
4. Ongoing review and development of Clinical Practice Guidelines
5. Representation of Trauma/ACS team at all relevant hospital leadership
meetings, the regional EMS committee, and any other ad-hoc meetings
relevant to our processes
6. Development of Acute Care Surgery Mortality and Morbidity process
7. Mentorship and guidance of surgeons and APP's on team


• Board Certification in General Surgery
• Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and board certification
• Strong communication skills combined with high patient satisfaction
• A proven record of leadership, clinical excellence and enjoy a
collaborative working environment
• Leadership experience in ACS verified trauma program


• Predictable work schedule: 60 days per year (up to 5 – 24 hour shifts
per month)
• 66 Hours per month for TMD Role
• Non-elective, Emergency Department Procedures
