Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgeon
The Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center is seeking 1 to 2 full-time Acute Care Surgeons. The ideal candidate must be board certified/board eligible in General Surgery, with additional qualifications in Surgical Critical Care, or have fellowship training and be preparing for the Surgical Critical Care exam. Responsibilities will include Trauma Surgery, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care, as well as resident/student teaching and clinical research. The Department of Surgery is committed to excellence in clinical care, research, and education, and fosters a supportive and collaborative environment with its own residency training program.

The Brookdale Medical Center is a busy 500 bed tertiary care hospital in an inner city urban location. It is currently an ACS verified Level II and New York State Designated Trauma Center with plans to apply for Level I designation. It has more than 100,000 ED visits per year, a 30% penetrating trauma population, and active Injury Prevention and Community Outreach Programs. Academic Appointment is available.
