Burn and Critical Care Surgeon Surgeon

The Division of Acute Care Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking to add a full-time academic Burn and Critical Care Surgeon to The Vanderbilt Burn Center. This position is open to all levels of academic rank, in accordance with the candidate's individual experience. Qualified candidates will have completed burn fellowship training and be Board Certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

The Vanderbilt Burn Center offers world-class care to adults and children with thermal injury. The Center consists of 25 beds in a dedicated burn unit designed to meet the challenges of burn treatment and recovery. The unit cares for a diverse population with complex issues in a catchment area with more than a 600-mile radius. The unit serves as a regional referral center for both adult and pediatric patients with more than 700 admissions and 2,500 outpatient visits annually. The Center is the third largest in the country for admitting burns over 40% TBSA, the 8th largest burn unit in the country for all burns and is part of a Level 1 designated American College of Surgeons Trauma program.

The Division of Acute Care Surgery currently includes 14 faculty members and 8 clinical fellows that provide a broad array of clinical services while caring for injured, critically ill, burn and emergency general surgery patients. The ideal candidate should have outstanding clinical experience and possess strong communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to research, ongoing quality/performance improvement and education are crucial. Academic rank, tenure and additional leadership opportunities are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
