Second Year Acute Care Surgery Fellow

The Division of Trauma, Burns, Acute and Critical Care in the Department of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine is currently accepting applications for a 1-year non-ACGME Acute Care Surgery fellowship position starting on August 1, 2022. The mission of the fellowship is to provide experience, research opportunities and mentorship to enhance clinical, educational, and research skills. The program achieves these aims through active participation in all aspects of acute care surgery, including trauma, emergency and elective general surgery, surgical critical care, and burn care. Depending on candidate's interest, rotations are also available on the hepato-biliary, colorectal, vascular, and/or interventional radiology services. The position will include participation in multidisciplinary conferences, research conferences, quality improvement and morbidity/mortality conferences, journal clubs, and grand rounds. The fellow will also have the opportunity to participate in global surgery through existing relationships with the Weill Bugando Medical Center in Tanzania, and through our participation in the American College of Surgeons Operation Giving Back program.

Applicants for the ACS fellowship must be board certified or board-eligible in general surgery, eligible for a New York State Medical license, and meet all other requirements for appointment to the faculty of Weill Cornell Medicine as an Instructor in Surgery. Applicants who have completed an ACGME-approved fellowship in surgical critical care will be strongly preferred.
