Monday, August 16, 2021

Dear EAST Members and Friends,

We would like to sincerely thank you ALL for your generous donations during the EAST Trauma Center Challenge. During this month-long contest, we were able to raise $106,787 thanks to donors from 92 Level I-V trauma centers across the United States!

In celebration, we congratulate South Nassau Communities Hospital - Oceanside for the most money donated, totaling $10,251! In addition, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk had the most donors among Level I centers, St. Joseph's University Medical Center - Paterson the most donors among Level II centers, Fisher-Titus Medical Center - Norwalk the most donors among Level-III centers, and Texas Children's Hospital - The Woodlands the most donors among Level IV/V centers! See the Leaderboards for the final results!

All these winning trauma centers will each receive a coveted framed Hawaiian shirt trophy and a prized lecture from a member of the EAST Board of Directors via Zoom. More details to come soon for the winning centers!

It was a close race, and we thank you all for joining the challenge and encouraging your colleagues, friends, and family to donate and for keeping the competition fun with your team photos (below). If you did not get a chance to share a photo, please send it to so that EAST can acknowledge your support.

We are excited to be able to use the substantial funds raised this year to continue to support initiatives for leadership, education, research, and injury control and violence prevention through the EAST Development Fund. You can learn more about the numerous scholarships and awards supported through the generosity of your donations by visiting the EAST Scholarships & Awards page. In an environment of scarce funding opportunities, your investment can make a profound impact on developing the next generation of trauma leaders while improving the care of injured patients. We look forward to celebrating together at the 35th EAST Annual Scientific Assembly in Austin, Texas!
