Acute Care Surgeon
The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas is seeking two full-time academic surgeons who are board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care. A strong interest in teaching and research (outcomes or basic science) is strongly preferred. Selected candidates will be committed to research and training of residents and fellows in critical care and acute care surgery at BCM.
Two faculty appointments are available. One at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, Baylor college of Medicine’s not for profit teaching hospital, and the other at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The practice encompasses adult emergency general surgery, elective general surgery, and surgical critical care. Neither positions involve trauma. Teamwork and the ability to interact with a multitude of specialists and subspecialists are an essential component of the position.
