Academic Trauma Surgeon

The Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College in Westchester County, New York (30 minutes outside of NYC), has an opportunity for an Academic Trauma Surgeon to join our busy Level I Trauma Center. The Department of Surgery and Institution has an unwavering commitment and support for trauma services and Westchester Medical Center is the lead hospital in the Hudson Valley Regional Trauma System. We are a designated Regional Level I Trauma and Burn Center with more than 40,000 emergency room visits per year.

In addition to being a fellowship trained General Surgeon with a specialization in Critical Care and Trauma Surgery, ideal candidates will:

• Be Board Certified/Board Eligible
• Have an active or be eligible to obtain a NYS license
• Have an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy, as well as the completion of a surgical residency and a surgical critical care fellowship
• Have a strong background or interest in research and resident teaching

As a teaching hospital of New York Medical College, you will have close interaction with the program's residents and fellows. Academic rounding and educational opportunities will be available, and an academic appointment may be offered, if appropriate.
