Academic Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery – Associate or Professor level

The Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College located in Westchester County, NY, has an opening for a Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery to join our busy Level 1 Trauma Center.

As the pre-eminent hospital in the Hudson Valley Regional Trauma System, we are a designated Regional Level I Trauma and Burn Center with more than 40,000 emergency room visits per year. With integration and recent acquisitions of other hospitals and services in the Hudson Valley area, we are growing at a rapid pace.

In addition to 5-10 years of progressive academic leadership experience, ideal candidates should:

• Be Board Certified/eligible in General Surgery
• Have completed a Trauma or Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
• Be eligible for a New York State Medical License (M.D. or D.O.)
• Have demonstrated evidence of a record of clinical, academic and administrative excellence in one or more of the core clinical missions of the Section (Trauma/Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery)
• Be a Fellowship Trained General Surgeon with a specialization in Critical Care and Trauma Surgery
• Have a strong background or interest in research and resident teaching
