Medical Director, Critical Care Resuscitation Unit

The Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center seeks applicants and nominations for the position of Medical Director of the Critical Care Resuscitation Unit (CCRU). Founded in 2015, the CCRU is the only ICU in the United States dedicated to the transfer of critically ill patients into our quaternary care Medical Center. The CCRU has an annual patient volume of 2,500 per year, caring for critically ill cardiovascular and neurologic diseases, as well as those with severe sepsis and ARDS. Procedures such as ECMO and mechanical cardiovascular support are routinely performed.

The successful candidate should possess a wide range of clinical skills in the care of such patients. Administrative experience at a similar level is desirable. Expertise in clinical and/or basic research and participation in multidisciplinary research is highly desirable. The successful candidate should be residency trained in Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, or Anesthesiology, and have board certification or its equivalent in critical care.

Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level with tenure status and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
