Medical Director, Lung Recue Unit

The Program in Trauma of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center invites applications and nominations for the position of Medical Director of the Lung Rescue Unit (LRU). Established in 2014, the LRU is dedicated to care of adult patients with severe respiratory failure requiring V-V ECMO. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in multi-modality therapy of severe respiratory failure, including ECMO. Administrative experience at a similar level is highly desirable. A record of accomplishment in clinical trials and/or basic research, and multidisciplinary collaboration is also required.

The successful candidate should be residency trained in Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, or Anesthesiology and have board certification or its equivalent in critical care. Appointment will be at the Associate Professor or Professor level, with tenure status and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
