Medical Director & Section Chief Trauma & Acute Care Surgery

This full-time academic surgeon will lead the ongoing integration of trauma and acute care services throughout UTMB's growing network and help ensure delivery of clinical services that meet the needs of the community, as well as, achieve programmatic performance goals and objectives.

Major responsibilities include:
•Creating a collegial and collaborative work environment where open communication creates the best care for patients.
•Participate in strategic planning efforts to meet growth targets of the program including, but not limited to, facilities and equipment planning, staffing and resource utilization, marketing and outreach.
•Working closely to further clinical networks and enhance services to its existing campuses.
•Partner with the Health System leadership, faculty, and nursing to create a culture of safety.
