Trauma Surgeon

The Division of Acute Care Surgery at Henry Ford Health System is expanding to meet the needs of an abundant and growing clinical practice centered at a regional, academic level I trauma center in downtown Detroit, Michigan. We are seeking candidates board-certified or eligible in general surgery and critical care to join our diverse and vibrant team of acute care surgeons and intensivists. At the downtown campus, we are a quaternary center for the system -- which includes 6 hospitals and 2 free standing emergency departments – as well as the entire region where we are known as the go-to institution for any referral at any time. Our practice includes elective general surgery, TACS coverage, and the workings of a 38-bed surgical ICU. Our team includes residents (finishing 7 chiefs per year), fellows (SICU) and a strong group of advanced practice providers. Medical students, primarily from Detroit’s own Wayne State University School of Medicine are part of the team; faculty appointments are through Wayne State.

Detroit is a resurgent city with a rich history; the downtown areas are enjoying a revitalization that includes three 21st-century professional sports stadiums, the storied Fox theater, and the Detroit Opera House. The metropolitan area is currently enjoying a growing economy and population.
