b'10 EAST news | 2022 Issue 1EAST Development Fund MessageDear Colleagues,We are incredibly thankful for all of you! Despite another tremendously difficult year, you have continued to support the EAST Development Fund mission of furnishing leadership and fostering advances in the surgery of trauma in record fashion, with more than $220,000 in 2021. A large part of this came from our inaugural EAST Trauma Center Challenge, which generated over $100,000 - the largest amount of any fundraiser in the history of EAST. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and want to thank you on behalf of EAST and the future trauma leaders who will benefit from your donations. We would also like to thank Dr. Babak Sarani, whose EAST Think Group initiative continues to raise significant funds toward our mission while receiving outstanding feedback from our industry partners. Launched in 2019, the EAST Think Groups are private informational meetings where EAST members donate two hours of their time to meet with industry and share their expert opinions. Each Think Group raises $20,000 for the EAST Development Fund. We are actively seeking further relationships with industry, so if you know of any company that may be interested in this initiative or one of our other corporate sponsorship opportunities, such as matching funds raised during the 2022 EAST Trauma Center Challenge, please contact Kinga Litwiniuk, EASTs Development & Member Services Manager, at klitwiniuk@east.org.We, as a Development Committee, are excited about 2022 and look forward to our upcoming 2nd Annual EAST Trauma Center Challenge, scheduled for July 15thAugust 15th, 2022, where we will find out which trauma center reigns supreme!
