Templeton, MD in honor or her late husband, John M. Templeton, Jr., MD, this annual scholarship supports two to three military trauma surgeons in the early stages of their career and service to attend the EAST Annual Scientific Assembly. Scholarship recipients are recognized for emulating a Call to Military Service and are expected to contribute to advancements in the treatment of the injured.In 2023, EAST recognized LCDR Luke R. Johnston, MD, MBA, FACS (U.S. Navy) and MAJ Rachel M. Russo, MS, NHDP-BC (U.S. Air Force).INVEST-C ProgramEarly-career trauma and acute care surgeons face many barriers to the implementation and completion of research. Contributions to the Fund help to support the EAST INVEST-C Research Hackathon where 5 aspiring researchers collaborate with established researchers to develop trauma and acute care surgery ideas.The 2023 aspiring researchers were: Rachel L.
