As an EAST GRADE Workshop Scholarship recipient, I had the opportunity to learn gold-standard methods for evidence synthesis from mentors at the forefront of the field. This workshop informed how I assess the quality of the medical literature, judge the methods of existing surgical guidelines, and develop new syntheses of my own. This workshop improved my ability to make meaningful contributions as a member of the EAST Guidelines Committee.
