EAST Mentoring Program
EAST is pleased to announce the 2026 EAST Mentoring Program for EAST members. The program will run Spring 2026-Spring 2027. The call for applications is now closed for Mentees. We are still accepting Mentor applications.
This program is under the direction of the EAST Mentoring Committee. The goal of the Mentoring Program is to promote the academic and personal growth of the early to mid-career trauma and acute care surgeon by providing extramural mentorship over a 1-year period.
The 2026 program will once again implementing a multi-tiered approach to mentoring including a team of medical professionals to form a “Mentoring Family” or "Mentoring Team".
The expectation is that teams to develop an annual strategic plan, communicate with each other consistently, meet each other annually (if possible in-person while practicing social distancing or virtually), and hopefully develop a long-term relationship. The goal is that at the conclusion of the 1-year mentoring program all team members will have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop through their “Mentoring Family” or "Mentoring Team".
We believe that every member no matter what stage they are at in their professional career has something to learn and offer and will be able to accomplish both through the structure of a multi-tiered mentoring program. The hope is that at the conclusion of the 1-year mentoring program all team members will have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop through the EAST Mentoring Program.
Application deadline: February 23, 2026
