OhioHealth Grant Medical Center Surgical Critical Care Fellowship is a, one-year ACGME accredited training opportunity for physicians interested in the the management of critically ill trauma and surgical patients. You’ll practice in Grant Medical Centers 49-critical care licensed bed teaching hospital, ranked the busiest adult Level 1 Trauma Center in Ohio by the American College of Surgeons. Grant also serves as a tertiary center for patients in more than 50 counties in Ohio and neighboring states. We accept two fellows each year into this high-acuity program.

Research opportunities

SCHOLARLY ACTIVITIES AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
We have full-time, dedicated faculty members who are available to provide support and guidance for fellows on their research and quality improvement projects. Fellows will have the opportunities to participate in the below scholarly activities:

Weekly lectures, morbidity and mortality conferences, seminars, small discussion groups, surgical grand rounds and journal clubs.
Participation in a QI project of their own design or one designed by the program or linked to the medical center's goals.
IRB approved research projects leading to presentation and/or publication.
Oral or poster presentations at the OhioHealth Research Day or scientific meeting.
Manuscript preparation of evidence based medicine systematic review of a topic.
Access to shared databases through the staffed library.
Participation in quarterly Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and intramural and extramural paramedic and nursing courses.
Opportunities to participate in Trauma in the Hill and Stop the Bleed training.
