Leadership Agility Program Scholarship

In collaboration with the Society of University Surgeons, EAST is offering up to two scholarships to attend the Leadership Agility Program held in Evanston, Illinois. The 2023 program will be held September 7-9, 2023 in Evanston, Illinois.  Applications for the 2023 scholarships are CLOSED. The application deadline was July 15, 2023. 

The Leadership Agility Program has been designed in collaboration with Kellogg School of Management, equips leaders to advance their careers in academic medicine amidst an ever-changing landscape. The program leverages Kellogg’s strength in meeting the unique design requirements of the healthcare sector through faculty and practitioners who have instructed thousands of healthcare professionals on their leadership journey. This program is rooted in theory-driven knowledge and concrete strategies that allow participants to put new ideas into action.  

Up to two scholarships are awarded and will cover course tuition, meals, and lodging.  Travel is at the scholarship recipient's expense.  

Eligibility and Required Materials

  1. Must be a member of EAST not more than seven years out of residency or fellowship training.
  2. Must submit a current CV and demonstrate evidence of commitment to the field of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
  3. Must submit a letter of intent relative to their aspirations in the field of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
  4. Must submit a 250-word essay on the role of EAST in developing the leaders of tomorrow.
  5. Must submit a letter of support from either the Trauma Chief or Department Chairman.
  6. All required information (including letters of support) must be received by the deadline.
