As a recipient of the EAST/American College of Surgeons Executive Leadership Scholarship, I gained a wealth of information about critical topics that will support my leadership development. The Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University was an intense, thoughtfully designed week focusing on health policy, finance, and leadership. I was able to make connections not only with internationally renowned scholars in each of these fields but also with "rising stars" in surgery across the country. I apply the knowledge and skills that I learned in that course on a regular, if not daily, basis and greatly appreciate the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma sponsoring my participation.
